FEMI ALUKO’S EDUCATION AND EARLY CAREER.
Femi Aluko attended Obafemi Awolowo University where he graduated as the best graduating student with a degree in electronic and electrical engineering in 2015.
His professional journey began with roles in engineering and software development at companies like Toptech Engineering Ltd, Softblue Nigeria Limited, Hutbay, and Shopping Internet Services. These positions provided him with a solid foundation in both hardware and software systems.

Inspired by a seamless food delivery experience in Dubai, Femi co-founded Chowdeck in October 2021 alongside Olumide Ojo (CTO) and Lanre Yusuf (COO). Chowdeck aims to revolutionize food delivery in Nigeria by offering fast, reliable service, with deliveries often completed in under 30 minutes. The platform has rapidly expanded, processing over 80,000 meals within its first six months and partnering with numerous restaurants to boost their sales.

Femi Aluko joined Paystack in 2017 as the fifth engineer and then he became its first Core Payments Engineer.He was later promoted to Principal Engineer, a top-tier technical role, for his outstanding performance.He played a significant role in scaling Paystack.
He co-founded one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing on-demand food delivery platforms., Chowdeck in 2021 and within 6 months of launching, Chowdeck had completed over 80,000 food deliveries. Under his leadership, Chowdeck has become a significant player in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem, demonstrating the potential of homegrown solutions to address local problems.
Chowdeck has contributed to the growth of a lot of food businesses by making millions of deliveries on their behalf, one of such is Amoke Oge. Chowdeck recently celebrated Amoke Oge’s ceiling shattering over 500,000 deliveries with an average order of N4,600 culminating into over ₦2.3 Billion in sales.
In May 2024, Chowdeck secured $2.5 million in seed funding from investors such as Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, FoundersX Ventures, Rocketship, True Culture Fund, Levare Ventures, and HoaQ. The company also collaborated with Chicken Republic and Shoprite to expand their delivery ecosystem.
By October 2024, Chowdeck had surpassed ₦30 billion in total deliveries and amassed over 1 million registered users.
Femi Aluko was honored in Nigerian CEO Magazine’s “40 Under 40 CEOs” list in December 2024. He won the Future Awards Africa 2024 in the Technology category for his innovation and impact through Chowdeck.
He has featured in prominent tech platforms and interviews, inspiring young African entrepreneurs and engineers including Meta youth summit in November 2024.
